salmon streaked tattered
black clouds drag the purple ridge
cold white winter sun
seeking center 1
some
of
us
seeking center
for we know
the way
alone
already
spoken for
in tongues
of flame
of flood
of grim shadow
cannot
fathom
friend
from
forklift
jarring
the work
being
so
arduous
and sometimes
we
think
heavy.

domestic haiku january saturday
walking in a rain day
pine needle tributaries
rust on the soaked earth
presence
canyon swirled
blue fog
silver sheen
sound borne
blessing
full with
approach
and then
nearness
soaked pine needle woven
ground
resting
dust settled
trees steadied
knowing
they’re
breathing
again
i walk
these
touching
hands
this sacrament
of
rain
this pounding
is
my
heart
my soul spread
sated
upon
this
wet
glistening
body.
seeking center
making
a rare
appearance
a young
child
fledgling
tender
heart repose
yet
unsteady
yet
rushes
in
she dives
the water deep
and
joy
she surfaces
too quickly
she
splashes words
spills
love
all over the floor
in
front
of everyone
then
so surprised
by this
all
the
long walk
back
the driftwood shore
she
again
seeks
center
knowing
nothing
is
ever
lost
to
the
sea
